It has been somewhat of a crazy time for all of us! Three months without any news, but today we are going to share the reason why.
I hope you have all been good and are looking forward to going back to school or work after a very unusual summer. We have had a lot of fun seeing everyone play on the server and have been working on new changes to get the network into a state where we can proudly advertise it to other people. And with the latest changes we are now pretty much there.
During the past few months, we have been working on several large projects and we are excited to let you know what they are.
Treasure Trackers is coming back
Yes, some of you are well aware of this fact, but we have been working on bringing back treasure trackers.
This has been a fan favorite game mode on CCN for many and something very unique that we want to bring back for all of our users. Treasure Trackers is a really fun game where you are tasked with collecting a small set of random items as fast as possible; effectively emulating a Minecraft speedrun focused on survival and resource collection.
We feel that this game mode has aged very well, and is a great addition in the current Minecraft climate, and that’s why we brought it back.
We improved several areas of the original game mode: now using 1.13.2 as base version to have more exciting worlds with all the new features; new items to collect; and several visual improvements.
We are also giving treasure trackers a proper leaderboard and game statistics, so you can fight to be at the top or have a better record time than your friends.
Hunger Games AI
We have noticed a problem after launching the server when the player count starts going down. Hunger Games is most enjoyable with 12 players or more, and when there are fewer players it creates a snowball effect that results in empty games preventing people from enjoying Hunger Games as they should.
As a solution, we are introducing AI into Hunger Games which will fill underpopulated games up with AI-controlled players to make the game more exciting and challenging, even when you are the only players on the server.
We are still fine tuning the play style of the AI, but feel that it is stable enough to be released to the main network.
Cosmetics are a fun side objective that can be unlocked using credits and earned by playing games. Now that it will become much easier to play games, we need to have a greater selection of cosmetics for you to unlock and that’s exactly what we’ve done.
We are introducing several new pets and all-new gadgets to the hub, purchasable with credits. These include some very fun ones that are definitely worth saving up for.
New epic builds
Our build team has not sat still either. With treasure trackers, we will be releasing several new randomized spawns, and a new waiting lobby for Hunger Games.
I am very proud of the new TT spawns, and excited to show you a little sneak peak of what they look like.
This update will be coming out very soon, in a week or two. The exact date will be announced shortly on our discord and twitter. Be sure to keep an eye out.
When this update is done, we want to start advertising our server more, collaborating with youtubers, and releasing more frequent smaller updates to make sure there is always something new and exciting to check out.
